Homer Tribune Comment Policy

You are welcome to comment here and we appreciate your participation, regardless of your point of view. The opportunity to comment is a privilege and not a right. We want to foster civil discussion. To help do so, we ask that you:

• Make sure your comments are on topic, directly addressing the subject of the story;
• Do not intentionally insult or attack other commenters (disagree but don't be disagreeable);
• Avoid spamming (i.e. posting the same message more than once);
• Avoid profanity and gratuitously graphic imagery;
• Do not post anything considered to be libelous, abusive, defamatory, vulgar, offensive, obscene,Ępornographic, harmful to minors or constituting hate speech, be it in advocating sexist or racist ideologies;
• Avoid abusive "abuse reporting" (i.e. flagging comments solely because you dislike them); and
• Do not link to online shops in the text of your comment. You may link to your business website with the URL field, but it may be removed if it seems illicit or spam-like.

Commenters who violate these rules will be blocked and all their comments will disappear. The Homer Tribune reserves the right to edit comments that violate the above terms, and will note when a comment has been edited.
